On Tuesday, October 2nd, PCSGA staff and grower members, along with volunteers, participated in the South Sound Beach Cleanup. PCSGA hosts two cleanup events annually, one in the spring and one in the fall. At this year’s fall cleanup, we had dumpsters at one location: Arcadia Boat Launch in Shelton, WA. We had several of our grower members participate: Salish Seafood, Squaxin Tribe, Arcadia Point Seafood, Seattle Shellfish, Chelsea Farms, NW Shellfish, Taylor Shellfish, Skokomish Tribe and FryeCove Farms. Combined there were around 50 crew members on 13 boats and 9 people helping out on shore to sort and count debris. Here are some photos from the event:
Special Thank You To:
Brian Phipps of Taylor Shellfish and Carol Phipps of Salish Seafood for cooking lunch!
Olympia Surfrider Chapter for volunteering to help out on land!
Olympia Coffee Roasters for donating coffee – MUCH APPRECIATED!
THANK YOU to everyone that came out and participated in our cleanup event! We couldn’t have done it without you. See you again in the spring!
