Tips and Other Information

  • Keep a copy of the email submitting your application materials to the Corps and Ecology. As a best practice, it is good to have documentation of the correspondence and the submitted information.
  • In your JARPA, be specific regarding manual versus mechanical bed preparation or harvest activities. Generally, manual methods are considered to be less impactful.
  • The Corps often asks for the mesh size of predator netting. Consider including this in your JARPA to avoid later questions.
  • Check local noise ordinances, especially for work at night. Details can be found on your county website.
  • If you are selling seed or cultch, you are required to complete quarterly reporting to WDFW. Additional details are available here.
  • If you are operating a hatchery, make sure to review requirements by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).
    • Hatchery operations may also require a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. Contact the EPA for more information.
